Job Opportunity:

The Australian Defence Technologies Academy seeks an accomplished Foundation Director to spearhead the establishment and operation of a cutting-edge, secure facility dedicated to innovation-driven learning and research. This purpose-built centre will support Australia's defence, industry, and government sectors by fostering collaboration across national and international boundaries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a dynamic ecosystem that bridges defence, industry, government, and academic sectors. They will develop and implement research and innovation capacity to drive education, training, and talent development in alignment with Australia's strategic defence priorities and workforce capability needs.

This role demands a visionary leader to devise and execute a comprehensive strategy for the Australian Defence Technologies Academy. The ideal candidate will cultivate a culture of innovation while driving local and state-based initiatives that advance defence innovation, industry engagement, and sovereign capability development.

Responsibilities:

The Foundation Director will lead the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the Australian Defence Technologies Academy. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders across defence, industry, government, and academia
  • Designing and implementing research and innovation programs aligned with Australia's defence priorities
  • Cultivating a high-performing research culture that drives innovation and excellence
