
Substance Abuse Therapist

Your role is a critical position that requires dedication, expertise in addiction counselling, and a passion for supporting individuals struggling with substance use issues.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish trust and rapport through empathetic listening and non-judgmental communication.
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify client needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions, including brief therapy sessions, referrals to other agencies or crisis management services, and follow-up support.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, adhering to best practices and service policies.
- Collaborate with treating healthcare professionals and other services involved in client care to ensure comprehensive support.
- Provide client-centered care, promoting health literacy and self-management skills to empower clients in their recovery journey.
To be successful in this role, you will possess a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or Counselling, as well as eligibility for membership of the relevant organisation. You will also have demonstrated experience in a drug & alcohol mental health setting, ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, and experience liaising with various services within human services and providers.
