Telecommunications Technician - Sydney

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our IT Communications team at St Vincent's Health Australia. As a key member of our Digital & Technology team, you will be responsible for managing our telecommunications systems, ensuring seamless voice and data communications services across our NSW Hospitals and Aged Care facilities.

This is a permanent full-time position, predominantly based at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney (Darlinghurst), with occasional travel to other locations. You will be part of a dynamic team that values inclusivity, diversity, and customer service. Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, operate, and maintain voice and data telecommunications network circuits and equipment
  • Support new and existing telephony services, including connections, disconnections, and relocations
  • Provide timely responses to Service Desk tickets and contribute to specification and design for Health Service redevelopments
  • Ensure proactive stock control management for Telecommunications hardware and audit Telecommunications equipment and services
  • Uphold the safety of residents and colleagues by following codes, standards, and legal regulations

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in a similar role, preferably within the Healthcare industry or large and complex organisation
  • Proven experience in administration of voice or data infrastructure
  • Ability to proactively triage and manage priority and business critical incidents, and to support on multiple priorities simultaneously and seamlessly while maintaining attention to detail in a high-pressure environment
  • Demonstrated organisational skills to work autonomously as well as part of the team, showing initiative and generating ideas for continuous improvement and innovation
  • Customer service focused with excellent communication and troubleshooting skills, and a great attitude towards supporting and collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders alike
