About the Role

The Department of Education QLD is seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Services Officer to join our Property Services Unit. As a key member of our Strategic Advisory team, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and acquiring strategic land parcels for a growing education demand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic advice on land options for new and existing schools, third-party advice within Priority Development Areas, tenure, and management.
  • Undertake detailed due diligence and stakeholder engagement to identify and de-risk priority sites and strategic opportunities.
  • Facilitate the development of outcome-focused processes and provide operational advice and support to various areas of the department.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated high-level negotiation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of legislation and departmental policy pertaining to real estate management.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and manage multiple competing priorities within short timeframes.
  • Accurate record keeping and reporting capabilities.

About You:

  • You will possess a strong understanding of property services, including town planning, and be able to rapidly acquire knowledge of relevant legislation and departmental policy.
  • You will be a flexible and adaptable individual with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities within short timeframes.
  • You will have excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
