Project Leadership Role

This is a challenging opportunity to lead the development of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects.

  • Overall responsibility for managing project life cycles, from feasibility studies through to construction handover.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, finance, legal, planning, grid, community, environment) and external consultants to achieve project objectives.

  • Monitor and manage project budgets, timelines, risks, and reporting processes.

  • Support in preparing investment cases and internal project approval processes.

Site Origination and Strategic Planning

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and assess new project origination opportunities.

  • Conduct field-based feasibility assessments, including environmental and planning constraints, grid capacity, and land access.

  • Provide clear and timely advice on development risks and mitigation strategies.

  • Keep up-to-date with relevant legislation and policy changes at local, state, and federal levels.

Stakeholder Engagement and Approvals

  • Built strong relationships with landowners, community members, regulators, and councils.

  • Attend community information sessions and council meetings to represent project interests.

  • Lead or support planning and development approval processes, including environmental referrals and planning applications.

Land Acquisition and Negotiation

  • Negotiate land access and tenure agreements with landowners, supported by legal counsel.

  • Manage the relationship lifecycle with landowners, from initial contact to contract execution and handover to construction.

Commercial Analysis

  • Assist in due diligence processes for project acquisitions and investment case reviews.

About You

  • At least 3 years of experience in renewable energy development, focusing on large-scale solar and/or energy storage.

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, environmental science, urban planning, or a related field is preferred.

  • Familiarity with the National Electricity Market, grid connection processes, and National Electricity Rules.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing development approvals and stakeholder engagement.

  • Understanding of local community dynamics and ability to negotiate effectively with various stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams and lead project work streams.

  • Able to work comfortably in diverse teams, collaborating across country boundaries with a sense of diversity and inclusion.

Location & Travel

  • This role will be based in Melbourne or Queensland, with regular regional and interstate travel requirements.

  • The business is headquartered in Melbourne, Victoria, and occasional travel to the office for team alignments is expected.
