Job Title: Social Care Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to provide expert social work services in our maternity unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based senior social work services to patients/carers within the clinical specialty area of Maternity
  • Ensure prioritisation and delegation of duties for own caseload and supervised staff
  • Contribute to the evaluation of the Social Work Service and Clinical Specialty, ensuring continuous improvement
  • Ensure effective multidisciplinary teamwork through professional communication and comprehensive liaison with colleagues, patient/carers and service providers
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Child protection and Family and Domestic Violence
  • Maintain current knowledge of legislation and policies relating to discharging patients

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong willingness and capacity to embrace the core values of the organization. They will hold a tertiary qualification in Social Work and be eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
