Position Overview - Mechanical Fitter
UGL Defence has been entrusted with the management of Defence fuel-related Asset Management, Operations, and Maintenance. We are seeking skilled Mechanical Fitters to enhance our Operations & Maintenance team, offering a distinctive opportunity to engage within the Australian Defence sector and contribute to the nation's security initiatives.
This role presents a rare chance to be part of a long-term operations and maintenance contract in the defence industry. Collaborate with a leading service provider alongside a team of seasoned technicians.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, your primary location will be within the Sydney area, with occasional travel required across New South Wales. As a vital member of the UGL technician team, your responsibilities will encompass:
- Conducting scheduled maintenance and servicing of fuel installation assets and associated equipment.
- Performing diagnostics and repairs in a breakdown scenario for fuel-related assets and machinery.
- Engaging in project work as necessary on fuel installations and related equipment.
- Assisting with subcontracted work packages as needed.
- Providing support across various sites in the Sydney area, with occasional travel throughout New South Wales.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player, proactive, and committed to delivering exceptional results for UGL and our clients. We expect applicants to possess the following qualifications:
- Trade qualification in mechanical engineering with relevant post-trade experience.
- Demonstrated experience in fixed plant maintenance, preferably in fuel services or the Oil & Gas sector.
- Experience within the defence fuels network or defence industry is highly desirable.
- Certifications for confined space entry and working at heights are advantageous.
- A strong commitment to safety in all operations.
- Current possession or the ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance.
