Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our global team as a Conflict Risk Assessment Specialist. This role offers a permanent full-time position with the opportunity to work in a hybrid or predominantly remote environment, requiring occasional in-office meetings and social events.

This specialist will be part of the Firm's Office of the General Counsel function, handling critical tasks such as conflict checks, client due-diligence, and compliance work. They will analyse and evaluate conflict search requests, conduct corporate affiliation and client quality research, apply relevant professional rules of conduct, firm policies, regulations, and risk guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and evaluate conflict search requests;
  • Conduct extensive corporate affiliation and client quality research;
  • Apply relevant professional rules of conduct, firm policies, regulations, and risk guidelines;
  • Identify and resolve potential conflict issues and provide concise and complete summary reports for relevant stakeholders;
  • Review, draft, and provide advice on client engagement agreements, conflict waivers, external publications, and outside counsel guidelines;
  • Vet all new business intake requests to ensure compliance with the Firm's business direction.

Requirements:

  • Qualified lawyers with a current practising certificate and a minimum of 2 years PQE;
  • Experience in a risk management or compliance role is highly desirable but not essential;
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to communicate concisely, influence stakeholders, and build strong business relationships;
  • Strong research skills and knowledge of corporate affiliations;
  • High-level computer skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly;
  • A desire to work in a legal compliance role.
