Job Summary:

The Australian Defence Force is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Drone Pilot Mission Commander. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for commanding drones to enhance situational awareness and support Navy missions and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Launch, operate, fly, and land drones to gather intelligence and conduct surveillance
  • Patrol and investigate areas of interest to gather information and coordinate with the team
  • Conduct search and rescue operations and detect and interpret aerial photographs and information from drone sensors and cameras
  • Plan and execute missions and flights, including pre-flight procedures and inspections
  • Identify and respond to weather conditions and operate drones in various environments
  • Conduct post-flight reviews, inspections, and maintenance to ensure optimal drone performance

Additional Responsibilities:

As an officer, you will also be responsible for providing leadership, management, administration, and career advice to sailors and junior officers within your division. You will learn additional skills and duties to become highly trained and efficient in supporting the security and safety of the ship and personnel onboard.
