Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to observe the battlefield and gather intelligence
  • Collect and analyze data to inform tactical decision-making
  • Liaise with air traffic control to ensure safe flying conditions
  • Assist in flight planning and briefings
  • Control UAVs in airspace with other manned and unmanned aircraft
  • Operate individual and crew-served combat weapons
  • Support the defence of ground troops
  • Perform general soldiering duties, including manning defensive positions and patrolling
About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work well under pressure. As a Drone Operator, you'll have the opportunity to travel and work in a variety of environments, while being based primarily in Gallipoli Barracks, Enoggera, Queensland.
