Job Summary

The College is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team. This is a full-time position that will play a critical role in supporting the financial operations of the school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in collaboration with the finance department.
  • Compile financial reports and statements for review by senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Analyse income streams and expenditure patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure financial sustainability.
  • Maintain internal control systems to safeguard assets and prevent financial discrepancies.
  • Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and accounting standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Monitor and evaluate operational costs to improve analytics and reporting against budgets.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience in financial accounting or similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial accounting, budgeting, and reporting, ideally in an education environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards, financial compliance, and internal control procedures.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
