Forensic Pathology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Specialist in Forensic Pathology to join our team at NSW Health. As a key member of our forensic pathology service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic, consultative, and procedural services in forensic pathology.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert diagnostic and consultative services in forensic pathology, including autopsies and post-mortem examinations.
- Participate in teaching, research, and quality improvement activities related to forensic pathology.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide a timely and respectful service for the deceased, families, and the wider community.
- Develop and maintain expertise in forensic pathology, including staying up-to-date with the latest research and developments in the field.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to forensic pathology.
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Forensic Pathology.
- Demonstrated contemporary clinical knowledge and technical expertise in forensic pathology.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education and continuing professional development.
- Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including excellent communication and organisational skills with capacity to manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of clinical quality management, continuous improvement, and a contemporary knowledge of National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council (NPAAC) Standards and NATA accreditation processes.
- Proven ability to work with the deceased in an environment that could be distressing, ensuring to raise any associated concerns and/or need for support, adopting self-care strategies and promoting same for staff.
- Demonstrated capacity to adopt and model the NSW Health RITE values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, and Excellence.
