Senior Farm Operations Manager

The primary objective of this role is to oversee the successful operation of our farm, ensuring optimal productivity and efficiency in all aspects of poultry management.

  • Responsibilities include:
  1. Farm Activities Coordination: Strategically manage all farm operations to achieve short and long-term business objectives.
  2. Staff Management: Ensure that staff are adequately trained and equipped to perform specialist tasks, including vaccination, shed walks, grading, and other critical duties.
  3. Maintenance and Administration: Implement and monitor effective systems for medication administration, serological monitoring, and documentation, aligning with company guidelines and regulations.
  4. Reporting and Compliance: Regularly submit accurate reports and ensure adherence to established procedures and timelines.

You will be working closely with a dedicated team and reporting directly to the Breeder Operations Manager. This full-time position requires flexibility and may involve occasional weekend work.

About Our Facility

We have a 6-shed rearing facility located near Warwick, boasting stunning views of Queen Mary Falls and its surroundings.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Prior experience in the poultry industry.
  • A strong understanding of animal welfare standards, legislative requirements, and Health, Safety, and Environment policies.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently, coupled with excellent time management skills and capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to direct and manage staff while allocating tasks to meet departmental objectives.
  • Commitment to maintaining 'best practice' standards within the industry.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
