Surgery Fellow Position in Regional Australia

This position offers a unique opportunity to work as a surgery fellow in a regional hospital setting in Northern New South Wales, Australia. The successful candidate will have the chance to gain valuable experience in General Surgery while contributing to the delivery of quality care to the local community.

About the Role

The role involves working under the supervision and guidance of experienced consultants to provide comprehensive care, management, and coordination of patients in the General Surgery department. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to collaborate with General Practitioners and other external stakeholders to ensure continuity of patient care.

  • Assist in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with various surgical conditions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of patient care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in educational activities to enhance knowledge and skills in General Surgery.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Postgraduate qualification in General Surgery (FRACS) is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • A demonstrated interest in rural/regional General Surgery and a willingness to contribute to the growth and development of the region.
