Gulaay Ltd is an emerging social enterprise committed to driving Aboriginal economic empowerment and sustainable community development. Our organisation seeks to create meaningful employment opportunities and establish lasting partnerships with key stakeholders.

We are currently looking for an Interim CEO to provide strategic leadership and direction during our formative years. The successful candidate will have a passion for community-focused initiatives and a proven track record in social enterprise development.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategic plans for sustainability and expansion. Ensure alignment with our mission and values while driving organisational growth.
  2. Pursue funding opportunities and explore social enterprise models to generate revenue and long-term sustainability.
  3. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the local Aboriginal community, government agencies, and corporate partners.
  4. Support the coordination of volunteers and future staff to ensure operational effectiveness.

Requirements

We're seeking an exceptional individual who:

  • Has leadership experience in social enterprises, Aboriginal organisations, not-for-profits, or community development.
  • Is driven by a passion for Aboriginal economic empowerment and social change.
  • possesses strong business acumen, particularly in fundraising, grant applications, or enterprise development.
  • Can build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to drive partnerships and funding.
  • Is adaptable, proactive, and willing to build from the ground up.
  • Has strong communication, governance, and financial planning skills.

Relevant experience in business development, grant writing, or managing start-up initiatives is highly valued.
