Process Operations Supervisor

The Process Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of processing facilities and maintaining a safe work environment.

This is a permanent full-time position that requires working on an 8 days on/6 days off, 7 nights on/7 days off FIFO roster at our site.

The Role Responsibilities
  • Safety First: Ensure a safe work environment and implement health, safety, environmental, and regulatory policies.
  • Health and Safety Culture: Participate in establishing a health and safety culture within the organization.
  • Compliance: Comply with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory policies and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Incident Reporting: Report all health, safety, and environmental incidents.
  • Operational Standards: Develop operating standards, methods, and procedures for production and operational tasks.
  • Target Achievement: Plan, schedule, and implement strategies to achieve departmental long-term targets.
  • Site Leadership: Coordinate site leadership activities to ensure continuous ore supply and meet concentrate production, plant reliability, and cost targets.
  • Performance Monitoring: Contribute to strategic and annual plans, monitor performance, and provide business analysis for the operation.
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve short- to medium-term production issues and drive continuous improvement projects.
  • Tailings Storage Facility: Operate the Tailings Storage Facility.
  • Standards and Procedures: Review and improve standards and safe operating procedures for processing tasks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in plant performance.
  • P personnel Competencies: Maintain Processing Operations personnel competencies and authorisations in line with Training Needs Analysis.
  • Crew Management: Manage skill distribution within crews to ensure supervision, training, and permits are provided.
  • People Management: Lead people management including recruitment, performance management, and development.
  • Team Culture: Foster a team culture of continuous improvement aligned with our values.
  • Communication: Demonstrate highly developed interpersonal skills for effective communication across the organisation.
  • Relationship Building: Build organisational capability to deliver operational results and develop constructive relationships with colleagues, regulators, government, and stakeholders.
Key Requirements
  • Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering: Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or trade qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Certificate IV: Certificate IV in Frontline Leadership desired but not essential.
  • Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license required.
  • First Aid Certification: First Aid certificate required.
  • WA Radiation Safety Qualifications: WA Radiation Safety qualifications desirable but not essential.
  • Experience: 5+ years in fixed plant processing, including at least 2 years supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Processing Knowledge: Experience in hard rock lithium processing desirable but not essential.
  • SCADA and DCS: SCADA and DCS experience desired but not essential.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated problem-solving and solution implementation in a multi-discipline team environment.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to Work in Remote Conditions: Ability to work in remote and/or arid environmental conditions.
