Job Summary: As a Mechanical Field Engineer with Bechtel Oil, Gas & Chemicals Incorporated, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret mechanical design drawings, codes, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Conduct constructability reviews and coordinate design issues related to the mechanical discipline, including equipment installation, maintenance, and testing.
  • Review material receiving reports and perform material receiving inspections to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with engineering and procurement organizations to ensure that design documents, drawings, and vendor manuals are available on site prior to equipment receipt.
  • Issue Field Material Requisitions (FMRs) for the purchase of permanent plant materials.
  • Coordinate with vendor technical advisors as required.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Mechanical Lead Field Engineer.

Requirements:

  • University/B.S degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience.
  • 3-5 years minimum construction/field engineering experience.

Desirable Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety, and Health (ES&H) and a Zero Accident safety program.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical operations and internationally accepted mechanical codes and standards.
  • Direct hire experience, preferably in a lump-sum environment.
  • Experience in LNG facilities is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs), including TEAMWorks, Infoworks, or Aconex, BPS or DSCS, PTR or Unifier, Agile, Navisworks, and other automation tools used on Bechtel projects.
  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with changing conditions, including extensive walking, climbing, and working at heights. The candidate must be able to use standard-issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task.
