Key Role: Network Innovation Director

Attract a visionary leader to spearhead the development and implementation of network innovation initiatives. The successful candidate will drive strategic growth, deliver transformative projects, and foster strong relationships with stakeholders.Job Summary:

As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for shaping and executing our network innovation strategy. This includes:

  • Developing and maintaining a pipeline of innovative ideas that enhance our business capabilities and drive future growth.
  • Creating compelling business cases for investment in innovation projects, leveraging external funding sources and partnerships where beneficial.
  • Exploring and delivering new technologies that can be owned and operated by the network, ensuring alignment with regulations and providing tangible value to customers.
  • Leading policy reform and stakeholder engagement efforts to overcome barriers and unlock opportunities for emerging technologies.
  • Fostering strong relationships with solution providers and stakeholders to monitor market capability, cost, and availability.
  • Overseeing non-network solutions from specification through to operations, regulatory cost recovery, and contract closure.
  • Identifying, assessing, procuring, and delivering non-network solutions as alternatives to traditional network investments.
About You

You are an accomplished leader with expertise in energy networks, regulation, and innovation. Your commercial acumen is complemented by technical knowledge, and you excel at building cross-functional partnerships to drive complex initiatives forward.

  • Proven experience in energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors, preferably with transmission network exposure.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, such as RIT-T.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects across technical, regulatory, commercial, and contractual dimensions.
  • Exceptional stakeholder skills and ability to build high-value partnerships with external stakeholders and solution providers.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Track record of driving innovation and change in highly regulated environments.
