Job Opportunity: LGBTIQ+ Refuge to Recovery Case Manager

This is a full-time role that involves working with individuals who have experienced family violence and are accessing our LGBTIQA+ Refuge to Recovery program.

You will hold a caseload of LGBTIQA+ clients and be responsible for delivering case management support, including intake, risk assessment, safety planning, needs assessments, case plans and reviews, exit plans, advocacy, and coordination of clients into accommodation and services.

The role also includes developing working relationships with key agencies, attending meetings with LGBTIQA+ specific organisations, providing advocacy and support for clients linking to community-based services, and promoting opportunities for engaging with clients and providing support to other staff out of hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a caseload of LGBTIQA+ clients who have experienced and/or witnessed family domestic and/or sexual violence.
  • Provide advocacy and support for victim survivors and their children linking to community-based services.
  • Develop working relationships with key agencies to ensure the safety of children using the best interest's framework.
  • Attend meetings with LGBTIQA+ specific organisations to document and minute take these meetings.
Requirements:
  • Hold a Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • OR have minimum 5 years relevant professional experience, OR a related qualification as per mandatory minimum qualification requirements.
  • OR hold significant cultural knowledge and experience or lived experience and have faced barriers to educational pathways.
  • A minimum of 2 years Case Management Experience preferably within a family violence setting.
  • Understanding of relevant theories and practice frameworks that relate to Family Violence, therapeutic interventions, case management, and support services.
  • Knowledge of MARAM framework (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework).
