About the Role

Thales Australia is seeking a highly skilled Trade Compliance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Ammunitions (AM) and Guided Weapons (GWEO) business area, you will be responsible for overseeing trade compliance matters and ensuring compliance with national and international export control regimes and customs obligations.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and support to the business area on global trade matters
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the business, offering expertise on global trade compliance requirements and assisting in their implementation
  • Implement processes and procedures throughout the business area to uphold compliance with national and international export control regulations and customs obligations
  • Ensure that projects have obtained the necessary permits and licenses to support both tangible and intangible exports, and manage any changes to these authorizations as needed
  • Monitor the effectiveness of trade compliance controls and propose and implement mitigation strategies in cases of non-compliance
What We're Looking For

We're looking for a highly experienced and skilled individual with a strong background in global trade compliance, specifically on Australian and US export control regimes. You will have a solid understanding of international trade matters and be proficient in interpreting and implementing government policies. Previous experience in the Defence industry in a trade/export control compliance role is highly valued.

You will be a key advisor to the business area on global trade and will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of trade compliance processes and procedures. You will also be a key member of Ammunitions Organisation & Thales Australia's Trade Compliance network.
