About the Role
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of carers and families by providing expert advice and guidance to management and staff.
As a Family & Carer Consultant, you will be responsible for promoting the rights and responsibilities of carers and families, ensuring they receive appropriate information and support.
You will work closely with carers and families to develop working relationships that meet their individual needs and priorities.
About You
- A personal experience as a family member or carer of a person with a mental illness is essential for this role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively collaborate with a range of people and organisations.
- You will need to demonstrate the ability to convene, facilitate and contribute to meetings and forums.
- A strong understanding of the issues that families and carers may experience through involvement with the forensic mental health system is also necessary.
