Associate Midwife Unit Manager Opportunity

Latrobe Regional Health is seeking an experienced Associate Midwife Unit Manager to join our Women's, Children and Birthing Unit on a part-time, ongoing basis.

We are embarking on an exciting development with the relocation of our Women's and Children's Services into brand new ward areas in the 3A hospital expansion. This expansion will provide improved maternity and paediatric facilities, larger intensive care unit, increase medical and surgical beds, and additional operating theatres.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and support with the clinical and administrative management of the Maternity Unit, ensuring the achievement of quality patient outcomes. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the workload capacity and will build and foster close working relationships with the Midwife Unit Manager, NUM, Hospital Coordinators, ANUMs, AMUMs, the wider Thomson team, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and support with the clinical and administrative management of the Maternity Unit
  • Manage the day-to-day workload capacity
  • Build and foster close working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ensure the achievement of quality patient outcomes

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience
  • RANZCOG - Fetal Surveillance Education Program (FSEP)
  • Excellent leadership qualities
  • Competent in escalation and management of an obstetric emergency including a neonatal resuscitation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
