Job Description

This is a casual opportunity that requires a dedicated and compassionate individual who can work independently and as part of a team to deliver services to participants and help them live a fulfilling life in the community.

We are seeking a passionate, empathetic, and caring person who wants to make a positive impact on others' lives. You will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities and domestic tasks, supporting social and community participation, and helping with skill development activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily living activities and domestic tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Support participants in their daily routines, including medication administration and transportation to appointments.
  • Develop and implement plans to promote social inclusion and community participation, such as outings and group activities.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to participants, responding to their needs and concerns.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Flexibility with availability to work short and long shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to do all shifts, including overnights, and be available on call.
  • Experience working with people with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and developmental disabilities.
  • First Aid Certificate or Mental Health First Aid.
  • Experience with complex challenging behaviors, such as aggression and self-injury.
  • Driver's License and own vehicle.
  • Experience in community care, including home and center-based settings.
  • Creative skills, such as art, craft, cooking, or outdoor activities.
  • Practical, active, and caring personality, with a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Police clearance not less than 12 months old.
  • Blue & Yellow card (Current).
