Hydrographer Trainee

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Hydrographer Trainee. This rare opportunity offers hands-on experience, formal qualifications, and one-on-one mentoring to launch your career in hydrography.

The Role

This role involves delivering best-practice environmental monitoring services, installing and maintaining automatic environmental monitoring stations, collecting and verifying environmental data, and maintaining accurate field records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation, servicing, and maintenance of automatic environmental monitoring stations.
  • Collect and verify environmental data using specialist software.
  • Maintain accurate field records, observations, and calibrations.
  • Help measure water flow in rivers, creeks, and drains.
  • Assist with manual sampling from surface water and groundwater.
Becoming a Qualified Hydrographer

You will have the opportunity to complete a Diploma of Water Operations (Hydrography) and gain industry-recognised training including 4WD and advanced first aid.

Travel and Work Environment

As part of this role, you will travel to remote regions of Queensland for short weekday trips.
