Fire Service Technician Job

We are seeking a skilled Sprinkler technician/trades person to join our team and deliver high-quality services for fire sprinkler systems, hydrants, pump sets, detection, and warning systems.

This is an exciting opportunity for a licensed Sprinkler Fitter with extensive experience in the service and maintenance of fire sprinkler, hydrant, and hose reel systems. You will be responsible for servicing, testing, and maintaining these systems in accordance with AS1851 and Australian Standards.

About the Role

You will be working on various projects including:

  • Service, test, and maintain fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry, pre-action)
  • Hydrant and hose reel systems
  • Fire service pump sets (diesel and electric)
  • Fire detection and warning systems

In addition to your technical skills, you will also be required to use Uptick to manage service reports, log maintenance actions, and ensure accurate compliance documentation. You will need to identify and rectify system faults, providing high-level diagnostics and solutions.

As part of our team, you will be expected to communicate professionally with clients, site representatives, and internal teams. You may be required to participate in after-hours call-out rosters and mentor junior technicians when needed.

You will also assist the owner with monthly/6 monthly fire service checks, including extinguishers, hose reels, hydrants, emergency, and exit light testing, along with fire detection.

Key Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Licensed Sprinkler Fitter with significant industry experience (minimum 5+ years preferred)
  • Extensive experience in the service and maintenance of fire sprinkler, hydrant, and hose reel systems
  • In-depth understanding of fire service pump sets and associated controls
  • Strong understanding of AS1851 and relevant compliance frameworks
  • Construction White Card
  • Current driver's license
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
