Retail Marketing Coordinator Job Description

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong interest in the fashion or jewelry industry and excellent communication skills. They will be proactive, able to solve problems with limited information, and capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.

We are seeking a Retail Marketing Coordinator to support our local research and operational setup efforts in Sydney, Australia. The successful candidate will have work experience in the jewelry or fashion industry and be proficient in English.

  • You will conduct market research on the Australian jewelry industry, assist in organizing and coordinating focus group interviews, and identify potential locations for pop-up stores or retail outlets.
  • Your duties will also include researching and supporting lease negotiations, compiling and contacting local vendors and shopping malls, and participating in regular online meetings with the Japan headquarters.
  • As a Retail Marketing Coordinator, you will provide on-the-ground support as needed, including event support and launch preparations.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Market Research: Conduct market research on the Australian jewelry industry to identify trends, competitors, price points, and other relevant data.
  2. Focus Group Interviews: Assist in organizing and coordinating focus group interviews to gather feedback from customers and stakeholders.
  3. Location Identification: Identify potential locations for pop-up stores or retail outlets based on market research and feasibility studies.
  4. Lease Negotiations: Research and support lease negotiations for retail space, including size, duration, and rental terms.
  5. Vendor Management: Compile and contact local vendors and shopping malls to establish relationships and coordinate communications.
  6. Reporting: Participate in regular online meetings with the Japan headquarters and submit reports on progress and results.
  7. Event Support: Provide on-the-ground support for events, launches, and other marketing initiatives as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Australian permanent resident or citizen.
  • Work experience in the jewelry or fashion industry.
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication).
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with the Japan team.
