Carpenter Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality workmanship in residential, commercial, and exhibition carpentry projects.

  • Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and procedures.
  • Cutting, shaping, and assembling timber components for frameworks, roofing, flooring, and external cladding.
  • Installing doors, windows, flooring, and structural fixtures according to project requirements.
  • Erecting timber frameworks and roof trusses, ensuring accuracy and quality compliance.
  • Constructing concrete formwork and other structural components as required.
  • Carrying out site measurements, material ordering, and layout preparation.
  • Maintaining compliance with workplace safety standards (SWMS, JSEA).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Key Qualifications:
  • Certificate III in Carpentry + at least 2 years of relevant work experience in residential or commercial carpentry or Cert IV in the relevant field + 1 year F/T work experience is the relevant field
  • Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans.
  • Experience in timber framework erection, roofing, flooring, door and window installation, and finishing works.
  • Familiarity with Australian Building Codes and Standards (NCC, AS1684, AS4440).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work well under pressure, and possess a strong attention to detail.
