The APS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Director to lead the Defence Legal Division. As a key member of the Defence Legal team, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice to senior leadership and stakeholders, and leading and assuming accountability for complex work that has strategic, political and/or operational significance.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction to Defence Legal, including involvement in the development of business plans, strategies and priorities.
- People Management: Lead a work team or teams, plan and manage a range of human and physical resources, and exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities.
- Performance Management: Develop, coach and review individual, team and business performance, and identify opportunities for building team capability and continuous improvement.
- Communication: Communicate expected outcomes, set work aligned with strategic objectives, and provide concise and consistent communication.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage and work collaboratively with stakeholders, negotiate in a persuasive manner to achieve business outcomes, and build and sustain the strategic capabilities of Defence Legal Division.
