Experienced Mechanical Manager Wanted for Water Infrastructure Project

SalaryThe salary for this role is estimated to be around AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per year, depending on experience.
Job DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Mechanical Manager for a major water infrastructure project in the lower Hunter region of New South Wales. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the mechanical installation contractors and ensuring the successful delivery of the project.
You will develop and implement construction planning, programming, and completion schedules, monitor progress, and ensure that work quality and techniques are of a high standard. You will also manage subcontractor work, stakeholders, and financial management, including contract, commercial, and financial risk management.
Responsibilities- Apply contemporary practices in construction methodology to complete assigned works in compliance with client expectations, company objectives, and contractual obligations.
- Develop and implement construction planning, programming, and completion schedules.
- Monitor progress, ensuring that work quality and techniques are of a high standard and report regularly on project performance, and cost against company objectives.
- Develop work packages, obtain market pricing, and prepare tender recommendations for engagement of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Manage subcontractor work to achieve outcomes.
- Stakeholder management: Ensure that stakeholders are actively engaged and that beneficial relationships between the project and the client, subcontractors, community, and other external parties are developed and maintained.
- People management: Establish and develop a high-performing team to ensure the project has the capability to achieve targets.
- Financial management: Ensure strong contract, commercial, and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue, take corrective action in line with JH's authority and reporting frameworks, and maximise the profit margin for the project.
- A degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering, or similar.
- Previous experience within a Tier One contractor for a minimum of 2 years.
- Previous experience in the delivery of D&C water infrastructure projects and managing mechanical installation contractors is preferred.
- Experience in delivery of infrastructure projects, with exposure to Subcontract Management, Project Delivery, Commissioning, Environmental & Controls, and Schedule Management.
- A passion for teamwork and delivering on tight deadlines.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
- An understanding of HSEQ management systems, compliance, and reporting procedures.
