Farmer & Operations Manager

This is an opportunity to take on a leadership role in the management of our agricultural operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in farming and operations management, with experience in leading teams and managing day-to-day activities.

The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing the overall strategy and direction of the farm, including the development of operational budgets and strategic plans. They will also be expected to mentor and provide guidance to team members, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational budgets and strategic plans
  • Mentor and provide guidance to team members
  • Oversee the overall strategy and direction of the farm
  • Ensure low-stress stock handling and high animal welfare standards
  • Implement sustainable land management practices and improve aesthetics
  • Ensure open communication across all levels of the organisation

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary qualifications in agriculture or a related field
  • Experience in farming and operations management
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong understanding of agronomic principles and practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
