About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Yara Pilbara Fertilisers. As a Mechanical Engineer - Static Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability and optimum operation of Static Equipment assets at our site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide mechanical engineering support for plant equipment, including equipment failure analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Be responsible for appropriate approvals and documentation for plant equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and practices.
  • Apply relevant codes, practices, and TOPs during maintenance activities, and coordinate MOCs.
  • Ensure equipment data accuracy in SAP and publish Work Procedures for Static Equipment maintenance, repair, and modification.
  • Supervise overhauls and projects for Static Equipment, signing off Inspection and Test Plans and ensuring quality of work.
  • Provide advice to Yara Personnel as the Subject Matter Expert on Static Equipment on site, ensuring compliance with Yara Technical Operating Procedure and Industry Best Practice.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis and publish reports relating to static equipment failures, and work closely with Inspection Engineers to implement findings of Risk Based Inspection Methodology on Static Equipment.
  • Conduct training for Engineers and Technicians in Static Equipment Reliability and Maintenance, and assist SAP Specialist to optimise maintenance and spares data.
  • Directly manage critical spares relating to static equipment across the site, ensuring their availability and quality when required.
  • Ensure MOC and Synergi actions are progressed in accordance with Yara's expectations, and identify problem areas and analysis of performance trends.
Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Full Member of the Institute of Engineers, Australia (MIAust).
  • Preferred 5 years of experience in a similar industry as Static Equipment Engineer (Petrochemical, Gas Processing or Oil Refining).
  • Strong SAP skills are a distinct advantage, and Intermediate/Advanced MS Office suite experience is required.
  • Certifications related to inspection of static equipment are highly regarded.
  • Fluent English (verbal and written) is essential.
