About the Role

The Queensland Fire Department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Officer to join our team as a Station Officer. As a Station Officer, you will be responsible for managing operational assignments, preparing budget estimates, and managing financial responsibilities at station level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Management: Manage responses to fires, road crash rescue/entrapments, and hazardous material incidents.
  • Financial Management: Prepare budget estimates and manage financial responsibilities at station level.
  • Resource Management: Manage the effective utilisation and maintenance of station resources.
  • Station Administration: Undertake station administration responsibilities.
  • Community Safety: Coordinate and conduct community safety and fire prevention/education activities.
  • Training and Development: Manage training and staff development requirements of station staff.
  • Interagency Collaboration: Develop cooperative working relationships with auxiliary and volunteer emergency service partners.
  • Communication: Manage communication within the workplace and liaise with other agencies.
  • Legislative Compliance: Facilitate all legislative, policy, and procedural requirements appropriate to the position.
  • Code of Conduct: Promote the values in the Code of Conduct for the Queensland Public Service.
Requirements
  • Mandatory Requirements: This is an operational position. Only applicants with relevant firefighting experience should apply.
