Project Director Opportunity

The Department of Education is seeking a highly skilled Project Director to lead the Project Office in delivering quality education and learning outcomes.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all Project Office functions, strengthening project management capability, and enhancing the department's ability to deliver on outcomes through guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and guiding the development and implementation of standardised project management practices, processes, and tools.
  • Oversight of portfolio governance, reporting and assurance framework to provide a comprehensive view of project activity within the department.
  • Representing the Project Office at the Project and Investment Committee, identifying relevant projects and highlighting emerging issues.
  • Driving and managing relevant policy, awareness, support, and training initiatives.
  • Building collaborative relationships with Project Managers and Senior Responsible Officers.
  • Providing coaching, training, and support to enhance project management capability and improve project outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate strong leadership skills, excellent communication and project management abilities, and a deep understanding of the department's goals and objectives.
