Svitzer seeks an experienced Tug Master to lead critical harbour towage operations. As a Casual employee, you will have the flexibility to balance your career with personal commitments while gaining hands-on experience with advanced vessels and diverse marine operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take command of the tug and guide your crew in safe, reliable towage.\
  • Ensure vessel operational readiness - stores, crew attendance, and daily checks.\
  • Maintain compliance with safety procedures and maritime regulations.\
  • Support crew performance and development, escalating issues when necessary.\
  • Assist with vessel maintenance and keep operational records accurate.\
  • Lead safety onboard through inductions, drills, and ongoing training.\
  • Share knowledge and build capability across the team.\
  • Lead harbour towage operations, ensuring safe and efficient vessel movement.\
  • Maintain accurate records of vessel performance and ensure adherence to safety protocols.\
  • Conduct regular safety audits and provide guidance on best practices.\
  • Develop and implement strategies for improved vessel efficiency and productivity.\
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.\
  • Collaborate with port authorities and other stakeholders to ensure seamless vessel operations.\
