Job Title: Waste Technical Officer

At Sutherland Shire Council, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Waste Technical Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the community by developing and implementing innovative waste education and minimisation programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of waste education and minimisation initiatives for the Sutherland Shire community.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance community engagement and promote sustainability.
  • Utilise data-driven insights to inform and improve waste management policies and programs.
  • Manage resources effectively and monitor program outcomes to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education, Communications, Business, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or equivalent experience.
  • C Class Driver's Licence
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering and evaluating educational programs for diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Understanding of waste management issues and experience in project management is desirable.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary range of $99,571 to $105,365 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
  • A 35-hour per week permanent full-time position with the option of a 19-day month flexitime arrangement.
