Legal Officer Leadership Position

The role of Senior Legal Officer is a senior leadership position within the Crime and Intelligence Legal Services team. In this capacity, you will work in a dynamic environment with interesting operational responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist legal advice and assistance to investigators and officers on complex aspects of criminal investigations, police powers, and response to major incidents.
- Drafting warrants, settling complex affidavits, and appearing on behalf of police officers in relation to covert warrants is an essential part of this role.
- Offer high-quality confidential advice to senior officers on sensitive operational legal matters.
- Liaise with internal units and external agencies to ensure effective collaboration.
- Mandatory – Admission as a barrister or solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and enrolment to practice in the Federal and High Courts of Australia.
- Possession of a degree in law from a recognised tertiary institution is required for this position.
This is a highly skilled role that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills. As a Senior Legal Officer, you will be working closely with other teams to provide legal support and advice.
