About the Role:

This pivotal role will contribute to our risk management strategies, evaluating creditworthiness, assessing risks, and providing recommendations to support sound decision-making.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Conducting thorough analyses of mortgage applications
  • Managing lending delegations with up to $2.5m exposure
  • Mentoring and supporting the growth of junior underwriters
  • Cultivating strong relationships with brokers and customers
  • Providing scenario assistance to Business Development Managers and Brokers
Required Skills and Experience:
  • A minimum of 2 years of underwriting experience in residential mortgages, with a focus on non-conforming mortgages.
Additionally, You Will Possess:
  • A deep understanding of relevant regulatory legislation
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and initiative
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A technical understanding of underwriting and ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • The ability to thrive in high-pressure environments
