We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Consultant to join our team. As an Environmental Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of projects across the business in the water, energy, and environment sectors.
- Support internal consultancy teams in relation to planning and environmental management matters.
- Lead and support planning and environmental projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are executed on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure planning and environmental considerations are integrated into project design, execution, and monitoring processes.
- Keep abreast of local, regional, and national planning and environmental regulations, ensuring that all projects and initiatives comply with relevant laws and guidelines.
- Provide technical planning and environmental advice to stakeholders.
- Liaise with statutory authorities for planning and environmental work permits and approvals.
- Prepare, administer, and assess contracts in relation to planning and environmental management.
- Support work programs to ensure that they are delivered to client expectations, timeframes, costs, and specifications.
- Work with a diverse and inclusive team who are responsible for the delivery, completion, and reporting of projects.
- Engage and establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to a culture of delivery excellence through coaching and knowledge sharing with colleagues.
- Develop and foster trusted relationships with key clients.
Candidates should possess:
- Tertiary qualifications or similar relevant qualifications.
- Understanding and experience of statutory planning and environmental impact assessment processes.
- 5 – 12+ years experience as a Planning and Environment Practitioner, with the ability to manage a diverse portfolio of functions while maintaining a focus on critical issues.
- Proven experience and knowledge of the water, energy, or environment sectors.
- Proven experience in project management overseeing the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals, including government agencies, community representatives, and industry professionals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills together with strong presentation and report writing abilities.
- Budgeting skills together with the ability to perform under pressure while providing high-quality outcomes.
- A consultancy and/or public sector background sector experience is preferred.
- A high level of business and personal ethics.
