Job Summary
The Chief Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and engineering functions, ensuring guest safety, comfort, and satisfaction while safeguarding the owner's investment.
This role leads daily operations of the engineering team, executing maintenance tasks and objectives efficiently to maintain the property and hotel operations at peak performance.
Responsibilities:
• Provide professional advisory services to the director of engineering to assist in meeting strategic goals.
• Plan and execute preventative maintenance throughout the hotel to ensure standards are maintained for a positive guest experience.
• Manage and control the maintenance request system, regularly analyzing frequent guest or property issues, timeliness of requests/jobs, and suggesting improvements based on analysis.
• Delegate general repairs and maintenance to the property within the engineering team or contractors as required.
• Champion resource management improvements and conservation.
• Be responsible for testing fire alarms, emergency lighting, etc. on a routine basis as required by local council and fire service.
Requirements:
Qualified engineer preferred.
Proven experience as a chief engineer/facilities manager or similar role.
Strong technical knowledge of building systems (electrical, HVAC, mechanical, etc.).
Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
Knowledge of Australian standards related to facilities management.
Body/owners corporation experience.
Strong project management experience.
