Director of Product Design Position

The role entails spearheading the design direction and vision for product areas and initiatives within a domain.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of designers, providing guidance and support through design critique, mentorship, and coaching.
  • Define standards and refine the design practice to drive operational excellence within the team and deliver consistent product experiences.
  • Contribute design solutions and deliverables, partnering with product and engineering leaders to help define product strategy and promote the value of design.
Requirements:
  • Work collaboratively with design leadership to manage the design team, programs, and processes.
  • Cultivate a strong team culture, develop strategies, problem-solve, and respond to team needs, working closely with others on the design leadership team.
  • Identify and prioritize future roles based on team workload, wellbeing, development, and business priorities.
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage new designers.
  • Provide direction, mentoring, coaching, and feedback to enable team members to grow their skills and deliver high-quality experiences.
  • Partner with operations teams to manage logistical aspects such as budgets, training, and performance.
  • Encourage team members in their career development, identifying opportunities for growth and achievement.
  • Maintain standards and rigor across the design practice, ensuring alignment with overall company strategy.
