Job Description:

This role is responsible for assisting the Public Access branch and Commissioners in carrying out their Freedom of Information functions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for dealing with FOI complaints, monitoring and investigating agency compliance with the FOI Act and Professional Standards, providing guidance and training to agencies, and assisting in shaping the future of public access to information in Victoria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deal with FOI complaints regarding agency delays, request handling, or decisions
  • Monitor and investigate agency compliance with the FOI Act and Professional Standards
  • Provide guidance and training to agencies on their responsibilities under the FOI Act
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures related to FOI
  • Collaborate with the Public Access branch and Commissioners to achieve common goals
