Forestry Operations Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated Forestry Operations Assistant to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work outdoors and contribute to the conservation of our natural environment.

Job Description

As a Forestry Operations Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with various outdoor tasks, including bushfire fighting, hazard reduction burning, weed control, and road maintenance. You will also be required to perform building and facilities maintenance, vehicle and equipment upkeep, and assist with operations for other functions within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bushfire prevention and mitigation
  • Hazard reduction activities
  • Weed management and control
  • Road and fire trail maintenance
  • Building and facilities maintenance
  • Vehicle and equipment upkeep

Our ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. A valid driver's license, truck licence, experience with heavy plant operation or chainsaws, prior bushfire fighting experience, first aid, use of chemicals, 4WD and off-road driving skills are highly regarded.

Requirements:
  • Relevant experience or skills in forestry, farming, outdoor, or construction work
  • A valid driver's license (provisional and above)
  • Ability to complete pre-employment screening requirements
