Job Summary

The EL1 Assistant Director Ecosystem Reform is a critical leadership role that involves resolving complex issues and risks across various activities with meticulous attention to detail. This position requires providing strategic leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management, and decision-making for team membership and assigned contractors working within the work area.

This role will coordinate and assume responsibility for undertaking detailed or sensitive projects that involve performing varied activities involving multiple processes or methods that may impact strategic or operational outcomes.

  • Develop reforms that better meet the needs of clients who interface with mainstream systems, including justice, child protection, health, housing, education, and transport systems.
  • Collaborate with other government departments through the Disability Reform Ministerial Council to develop commonwealth positions that achieve improved client outcomes.
  • Seek expert advice from various business areas, form an agency position, and lead negotiations with external stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • Develop comprehensive briefings to support senior executives in engaging in disability ecosystem reform discussions with governments and stakeholders, including developing briefing and correspondence for the minister, board, and executive.
  • Analyse, interpret, and present structured and unstructured data to support high-level decision making.
  • Ensure performance and reporting requirements are met within timeframes and quality standards.
Required Skills
  • Considerable experience working with government stakeholders
  • Experience as a representative or negotiator on behalf of an organization
  • Demonstrated experience analysing, interpreting, and presenting data to support high-level decision making
  • Demonstrated experience developing comprehensive briefings and correspondence
  • Experience in the Disability, Health, or Aged sectors advantageous
  • Experience in leadership, planning, and resource management
