About the Role

This exciting opportunity exists for a Financial Accountant - Strategic Financial Planning to join our finance team. You will play a critical role in providing specialist financial services, including the preparation, monitoring, analysis, and reporting of Council's financial position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Prepare annual financial statements.
  • Monitor and amend Council's Long-Term Financial Plan within the Annual Plan.

You will work closely with senior management to ensure that accounting data accurately reflects Council's current and future financial position and needs. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in financial planning and analysis, while contributing to the growth and development of our community.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting or financial management.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a similar role.
  • Current NT Drivers Licence.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.
