We are seeking a highly skilled Government Security Officer to join our team in Canberra/Melbourne, Australia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining security compliance artefacts, including the SAP Australia DISP Security Register and GS2's document sharing sites. They will also develop and implement processes and improvements in the GS2 ANZ portfolio to meet SAP's DISP and other government obligations.

As a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, the candidate will support direct customer engagements that involve national security or other government regulation. They will maintain internal stakeholder relationships and support the facilitation and maintenance of personnel security clearances, travel security, lateral recognitions, and Requests for Visit.

The ideal candidate will have significant management experience working within a security function in Government ministries/agencies, regulated industries or companies operating in a national security setting. They will hold Australian citizenship and be able to obtain and maintain a Personal Security Clearance issued by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain security compliance artefacts
  • Develop and implement processes and improvements in the GS2 ANZ portfolio
  • Support direct customer engagements involving national security or government regulation
  • Maintain internal stakeholder relationships
  • Facilitate and maintain personnel security clearances, travel security, lateral recognitions, and Requests for Visit

Requirements:

  • Significant management experience in a security function
  • Australian citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Security Clearance
  • Excellent organisational awareness and planning skills
  • Experience in functional areas such as security administration, document safeguarding, classified information assurance, and communication with government authorities and security organisations
