Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Strategist to join our DFG Capability Development Team as an Assistant Director. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development, delivery, and management of strategic talent management initiatives, including the Employee Value Proposition, Culture Blueprint, and Professional Development program.

You will work closely with senior leaders to understand capability gaps, design contemporary solutions, and drive change to attract, retain, and develop a high-performing workforce. Your comprehensive knowledge of human resources will enable you to develop strategies, frameworks, and guidelines that support the growth and success of our employees.

  • Evaluate programs and initiatives to measure their success and provide recommendations for future improvement;
  • Support the strategic direction of the Capability Development Team, including the management and delivery of key initiatives;
  • Identify capability gaps and develop contemporary strategies to attract, recruit, and engage high-performing talent;
  • Develop and implement plans to achieve business outcomes and objectives;

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Demonstrated experience in Human Resources Strategy, particularly in the areas of talent management and organisational development;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop effective working relationships internally and externally;
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to prepare reports, briefing materials, and strategic documents for various audiences;
  • A strong understanding of the defence industry and its challenges;
  • The ability to apply comprehensive knowledge of human resources to develop strategies, frameworks, and guidelines that support the growth and success of our employees.
