**Job Title:** Compensation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Compensation Specialist to lead our payroll processing operations across Australia.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional looking to drive positive change and optimization in the payroll space.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical payroll support, ensuring accurate award and legislative interpretation, and driving process improvement while supporting our finance team with various activities including month-end closing, tax-related matters, and audit functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end payroll processing including balancing and reporting, new hires, and termination processing
  • Manage Time and Attendance system to ensure accurate recording and approval for permanent employees and labour hire
  • Build rapport with internal stakeholders and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders
  • Provide training, follow-ups, and timely information on payroll and labour-related matters
  • Ensure compliance with tax, superannuation, Payroll Tax, WorkCover, and other payroll-related obligations
  • Process accounting entries for payroll and labour accruals such as employee entitlements and month-end true-ups of contracted labour
  • Assist and backup end-of-month, and year-end processing
  • Provide accounting support for preparation of FBT, GST, income tax, and audit activities

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll, and time and attendance systems
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using Sage Micropay and Kronos time and attendance preferred but not essential
  • Solid grasp of accounting basics
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proficiency in SAP and database a bonus
  • Excellent communication skills
