
Compensation Specialist

The Compensation Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless and accurate compensation delivery, guaranteeing employees receive timely payments without errors.
This position demands confident ownership of HR systems as an administrator or lead user, managing end-to-end compensation and partner relationships while maintaining compliance with legislation and entitlements.
- Navigate multiple compensation structures with confidence, maintaining accurate employee pay details and ensuring every payment lands on time and without error.
- Collaborate closely with Finance, People Operations, and senior leaders to resolve queries and maintain clear, consistent communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance and Reporting- Ensure compensation practices remain compliant with legislative requirements and employment laws.
- Manage timely payments and accurate reporting of compensation tax, WorkCover, Superannuation, and other statutory obligations.
- Prepare precise compensation reports that help stakeholders anticipate future compliance challenges.
- Partner with People Operations to maintain secure, accurate employee records in the HR system from onboarding to role changes.
- Contribute to the business's digital transformation by transitioning payroll records to secure electronic storage with reliable backup processes.
- Play a key role in evaluating, selecting, and implementing the company's next compensation system, one that meets current needs and sets up for future growth.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to configure, test, and launch the system smoothly and successfully.
- Own the system post-launch, ensuring it performs optimally, maintains data integrity, and streamlines compensation workflows.
- Support adoption across the business by training and empowering users as we transition to smarter tools.
- 5+ years' experience navigating compensation operations in small to medium-sized organizations.
- Skilled in managing end-to-end compensation and partner relationships, with a deep understanding of legislation, entitlements, and compliance across compensation tax, WorkCover, and Super.
- Experienced in launching and refining compensation or HR systems, with a keen eye for detail and focus on delivering accurate outcomes.
- A proactive communicator who collaborates with People Operations, Finance, Legal, vendors, and leaders to keep initiatives on track and moving towards better compensation solutions.
- Committed to looking beyond the current horizon, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and elevate the compensation experience for everyone.
