Warehouse Assistant Job Description

The Sewing Basket Warehouse Assistant role involves assisting the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and retail outlet. This includes receiving donations, categorising, sorting, and despatching product.

This is a permanent part-time role working over 2 days per week within business hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to a team of employees and volunteers to operate a donated goods process efficiently
  • Assist customers with their shopping experience to ensure it is happy and satisfying
  • Establish positive relationships with volunteers and staff to ensure effective teamwork
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe environment for customers, volunteers, and employees in compliance with organisational policies and procedures

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge and ability to operate warehousing and stock sorting capability
  • Knowledge and understanding of providing high standard customer service
  • Knowledge and understanding of sewing, quilting, and related craft activities will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other team members
