Aging Support Specialist

Improve the lives of individuals accessing aged care services by working as a Therapy Assistant with our team. You will assist in delivering high-quality therapy services and contribute to the development and implementation of programs that meet the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs of our community clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with group and individual intervention programs designed to maintain and/or improve independence and function under the guidance of our physiotherapist and occupational therapist.
  • Deliver programs at Day Therapy Centres and client's homes with a reablement approach.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of therapy care plans.
  • Assist clients in maintaining/improving functional independence.
  • Complete documentation contemporaneously.
  • Provides feedback to therapists on the outcome of interventions.
  • Collaborate involvement in the Transition Care Program by delivering tailored goal-focused interventions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Allied Health equivalent or higher qualification - essential.
  • Experience working as a Therapy Assistant - desirable.
  • Experience working in Aged Care - desirable.
  • Strong person-centered skills and ability to engage with clients of all abilities.
  • Planning and organisational skills.
  • Competency providing a range of therapeutic interventions/activities to clients individually and in a group.
  • Current Australian driver's licence and reliable vehicle - both essential.
